Giving to end infant abandonment!
Over the last fifteen years, more than 1,500 babies have been abandoned in the United States. When a parent is facing a crisis pregnancy situation, they often feel isolated and afraid, leading to preventable infant abandonment. To prevent this from occurring, the Safe Haven Laws were established in every state.
The laws allow a mother or parent to anonymously relinquish their unharmed infant to a designated Safe Haven provider. In order to raise awareness of this alternative option, the National Safe Haven Alliance (NSHA), a 501(c)3 nonprofit, is dedicated to serving these parents through a holistic approach. This support provides mothers, parents, and infants with the resources they need to parent their child, secure temporary placement, locate an adoptive family, or surrender the infant under the Safe Haven Laws. Through our 24/7, confidential Crisis Hotline, operated by NSHA's highly-trained Crisis Response Team, NSHA is able to support more than 1,000 parents in need per year.
In addition to this serve, NSHA also supports all individual state Safe Haven organizations to increase awareness of the Safe Haven Laws. Lastly, NSHA partners with all legally-designated Safe Haven Providers such as hospitals, fire stations, and police stations to provide holistic and best practice training.
By giving to NSHA today, you are making a direct impact on your community and preventing the death of innocent babies. Thanks to you, NSHA will be able to continue offering support to parents in desperate circumstances. Thank you for your commitment to bring a voice for the voiceless and putting your love into action.
